Businesses in the South West can get set to see their names in lights with an expert workshop from leading local journalist and PR expert, Fiona Scott, on February 26 in Chippenham.
Fiona, of Fiona Scott Media Consultancy, will be holding her popular ‘how to feature in the media’ workshop at The Citadel Hall in Chippenham on 26 February from 9.30am - 2pm, to help local and regional businesses learn how to tell their stories and connect with the media.
The hands-on workshop will help business owners to understand what good PR looks like and Fiona will help attendees create a compelling story that will appeal to the press.
With more than 30 years of experience across print, radio and television, Fiona has been working as a media consultant since 2008 and still writes frequently for publications in Wiltshire, where she is based.
The course is designed for sole traders, small businesses and charities that want to raise their profile and will take attendees from the very basics of PR through to pitching a story to the media.
Fiona said: “A lot of start-ups and small businesses have either tried and failed to do PR because they aren’t sure how to tell their stories and effectively pitch to the press, or are too scared to try, so this course will break it down for them step-by-step, starting with what PR is and how it can benefit a business.
“In small groups, we’ll work together to identify a story, write a pitch and plan what to do next. It’s an action-packed course and will demonstrate how much hard work goes on behind the scenes to connect with the media in order to see your name in lights.”
At just £55 per person, it is an opportunity to learn from a media-stalwart about the ins and outs of the industry, what works, what doesn’t and have brands sharing their stories effectively in no time.
