Woodley’s Jalpari restaurant plans major expansion to boost seating capacity

The popular Indian restaurant Jalpari in Woodley is set to expand, potentially boosting its customer capacity if its latest plans are approved.

Located at Loddon Vale Shopping Centre, Jalpari is known for its authentic dishes from the Indian Subcontinent and has become a favorite among locals.

The restaurant's owners have submitted a proposal to extend into a neighboring unit, aiming to enhance the dining experience. The expansion would allow Jalpari to keep its existing 22-seat area while adding a new space with 13 tables, each seating four people. This would significantly increase the restaurant's total capacity to approximately 74 guests, marking a boost of 54 seats.

The expansion proposal was reviewed at a Woodley Town Council planning and community committee meeting on August 27. If approved, the expanded Jalpari could welcome many more diners, enhancing its role as a go-to spot for Indian cuisine in the area.
