Celebrate Burns Night 2020 in style at De Vere Wokefield Estate
If you’re looking for something to look forward to after the dust settles on the festive period then look no further! Reading hotel, De Vere Wokefield Estate is holding a real Scottish knees-up to celebrate Burns Night on the 24th January.
Whether you’re Scottish or not, who can turn down a night of traditional haggis eating, whisky drinking and Ceilidh dancing? Burns Night is an annual event which celebrates the life and poetry of Scottish poet, Robert Burns, as well as being a great excuse for a party!
The unique and fun-filled evening will be hosted by the fantastically entertaining comedian, Ian Irving. Guests will arrive to music from Reading’s own live piper before enjoying a drinks reception and canapes. A delicious, four-course gala dinner will follow where guests can witness the famous toasting of the haggis, along with a “wee dram” of whisky.
A silent auction will be held on the night to raise money for Naomi House and Jacksplace, which are fantastic local hospices for children and young adults and the chosen charity partner of De Vere Wokefield Estate.
The evening will be rounded off with a Ceilidh and then a disco for those who still have the energy after all the traditional Scottish dancing!
Peter Sangster Venue Director of De Vere Wokefield Estate said, “We are really looking forward to hosting this fabulous Scottish celebration. It is set to be a fun-filled evening of entertainment, delicious food and dancing, all while raising money for local hospices, Naomi House and Jacksplace.”
