Parkrun set to return to Reading next month

parkrun Global Chief Executive Officer Nick Pearson announces intent to resume parkrun events in England towards the end of October.

Parkrun lovers will be pleased to hear that there are plans in place to start up the popular 5k runs again by the end of next month, which in Reading takes place at Thames Valley Park on Saturdays at 9am. Other nearby parkruns take place at Woodley, Prospect and Dinton Pastures. Find out more about Reading Parkrun here.

Ever since parkrun events closed in the UK and across the world, they have been focused on understanding how and when they would be able to resume in a safe and appropriate way.

Throughout, the organisers have sought to understand the evidence, to be a part of discussions with government and public health bodies, to listen to the parkrun community, and to communicate regularly, transparently and honestly.

Following detailed conversations with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Sport England, and Public Health England, Global Chief Executive Officer of Parkrun is delighted to announce that they intend to reopen parkrun and junior parkrun events in England towards the end of October this year.
