Thames Lido
The Thames Lido is perfect for those unbearably hot days when you just want to cool off in the water.
The 25m outdoor swimming pool is heated throughout the year to a temperature designed to leave you feeling fresh and energised.
At between 21-25 degrees Celsius, it allows for comfortable swimming and is a wonderfully refreshing contrast to the heat of the other spa facilities – the saunas & hot tub.
The chlorine levels are kept as low as possible with the help of the ‘wash naked’ policy and bespoke Lido Spa products in every shower cubicle.
Take the whole family along for an outdoor swim between 2pm - 4pm!

Prospect Park
Prospect Park is Reading's largest open space making it the perfect place for sunning yourself on a hot day. It gets its name from the fine views across the Kennet Valley and beyond, which can be enjoyed best from the Mansion House. The park has broad sweeps of short cut grass, with areas of meadow grassland - perfect for a spot of sunbathing or a picnic!
A favourite amongst children is the mini steam train, run by voluntary enthusiasts on the first Sunday of each month, near the Bath Road entrance. The site also features a wide variety of sports facilities and a well-equipped children's play area. The park is also host to a number of annual events including the Reading Carnival and a steam fair.

Thames Path
The Thames Path runs for 184 miles from The Cotswolds, right the way through to and past London. Winding in and out of Reading, the riverside path makes a wonderful walk on a sunny day. There is no specific starting place - you can pick it up from wherever you wish!
A popular walk amongst many is the Reading to Henley walk, which is around 9 miles. There are plenty of pubs along the riverside, so if you get tired of walking, you can enjoy a cold beer in a pub garden with a view over the gorgeous river!
