DIGITAL MARKETING EXPERT WINS NATIONAL AWARD JUST A YEAR AFTER STARTING HIS BUSINESS
Swindonian Rob Curtis who started his company The Pursuit Agency a year ago has been named Start Up of the Year at the national Business & Community Awards.
Rob, who is an expert in digital marketing, won the national award at a gala event held in Reading (April 21). He started his business after a career of more than eight years employed within other businesses learning all about the fast-moving world of digital marketing.
“I’m overwhelmed and humbled to receive such an honour,” Rob said. “I was so thrilled to be nominated and very grateful to be there with my wife, friends and business friends too. It was so unexpected to actually win.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me to hit the ground running in my business in these early days. It takes a huge leap of faith to ‘go it alone’ and you definitely cannot ‘do it alone’.
“A special shout out to all of my clients so far including Helen Brownings, WeAnswer, Milroys, Aegina and more. I’d like to also thank my business buddies including the team at H2, Fiona Scott, Heather Angell, Danny Matthews, Joe Tompkinson, who haveall supported me in so many ways, from being a listening ear to talking process! I feel like the list is endless though..lthere are so many others!”
Any business or relevant individual could nominate themselves for these business and community awards or they could be nominated by members of their team, or their clients. Those nominations were then judged by an independent panel of business owners and regional winners were put forward to a national event. For this national final, the judges spent more than 500 hours debating who should be chosen as finalists and winners.
They said of Rob:
“The Pursuit Agency has embodied impressive success since it started just over 12 months ago. In that time, it has already proven significant financial competency, making a profit in the company’s first month of existence – well done!”
The Great British Expos is one of the most well-known organisations to stage popular regional business shows for SMEs across the UK. Their community and business awards are increasingly popular and at this event the keynote speaker was Paralympian and World Champion Chris Hunt Skelley MBE, who won a gold medal at Tokyo 2020 in his sport of judo. Chris lives in Wiltshire with his wife Louise Hunt Skelley PLY who also attended the event.
The organisers are based in the Midlands and the team support a company called Cherishers which provides cleaning and ironing contracts to people who struggle to find employment. Profits go into providing free support services within the community to those who are lonely or vulnerable.
Rob’s company helps businesses to become visible using a range of digital marketing tactics including SEO, pay per click and content marketing. To find out more about The Pursuit Agency visit https://thepursuitagency.com
